WHAT'S ON...?

ACTIVITIES & TRAINING

Costs for training days vary from free for members to ~$180, depending on the level and type of instruction and any hire of equipment or alternative venue. A horse levy has also traditionally been charged by the Showground Trust for each horse brought onto the showgrounds, however, we usually try to incorporate this into our entry fees and now pay the Trust annually on invoice.

 

Lunch has changed since Covid-19, so we encourage you to bring your own, unless we advertise otherwise.  There is a fridge and microwave in the Club house.  Tea and Coffee are provided by the Club free!

 

On the Day -

 

The entry for horse floats and trucks is the second gate on Mathews Lane, not the caravan entry. See the contact page for a map of the Bungendore Show Grounds and details of the showground layout.

 

There are camping facilities with access to power, toilets and showers.  You should contact the Showground Trust directly for bookings and payment. There are spacious steel yards (bring a rope as there is no closure on the entry to some of the yards).  The wash bay requires a BYO hose/fitting. 

 

The use of hoof boots is welcome at training days, but not at competitions.  Stallions are not permitted at training days, unless specified, but are welcome at competitions. Bitless Bridles are allowed at training days if they are 'bridles' - not halters.  The reins should be attached to the side of the nose piece and not to a knot or ring under the jaw.  Bareback pads may be approved for training days but may require a separate waiver to be completed.  

 

Please ensure any dogs are on leads and no dogs are to be on the main ground at all when people are riding. It would be preferred if dogs were left at home, though.

Please note that some coaches' insurance requires that you also complete a waiver form for them before you ride - please allow enough time to complete this task, should it be required on the day.  It is always a good idea to be warmed up and ready to ride at least 10 minutes prior to your activity start time.

NB - We follow current EA protocols in regards to concussion. If you have had a fall from your horse within the last 21 days you must provide medical evidence that you are fit to participate. If the organisers or instructors suspect that you may have sustained a head injury during an activity you will not be allowed to continue to ride without medical clearance.
